We all know that Imperialistic aspirations are not yet over in the world. The next thing we know is: Imperialism and divide and rule policy goes side by side - same thing that Britain did in India sixty years ago. And in Iraq, its implication is not going to be different than what it used to be.
The beleaguered Bush administration now comes with the divide and rule police for Iraq. Is there something surprising? What do you say?
Scenario in Iraq: –
According to US plan, Iraq will now be divided into three parts. If you think that it’s for Shias, Sunnis, and Kurds, may be you are right. It is because, as of now, the situation is totally out of US’s control and for that matter US is well planning to destroy the country after their withdrawal.
It’s only to claim that - like the one they chant after withdrawal from Vietnam - all happened because US was forced to pull out of the country.
The sectarian violence that provided the firm bases and no opposition to occupying forces made it possible for US to prolong its stay on the course. And US time and again added the fuel to the fire whenever it was in dire situation.
The proposals that include: making a Sunni paramilitary Guardian organization in Iraq, handing over the arms to Sunnis against insurgent, creating a chasm in ethnicity and religion (while making adverse equation i.e. Sunnis vs. Shias and Arabs vs. Kurds), banning democratic and republican parties while parties with chauvinistic aspirations replacing them... this is what US Iraq policy is all about.
Can you call it an effort to unite Iraq for a stable, progressive, and dynamic future?
Whenever the occupying forces played with the religious feelings in a country there always remained the infallible void between the sects - be it India before British occupation, USSR or Germany.
So, will it be Iraq now? Well, it’s difficult to think, but sorry to say that Iraqi sectarian predicament is heading towards this direction.
This is mere an excuse for US to authenticate its stay in Iraq. Mind you this ’soft partition’ won’t be soft and will left unbridgeable gap between the Iraqi sects - like the one we witness between India and Pakistan.
Scenario in Mideast: –
Additionally, it’s mere microcosm however represents the whole Mideast. US’s Mideast policy is not different even. It is patting Abbas in ‘West Bank’ and discarding Hamas. US favors Israel against Palestine. US have biased attitude towards Iran (even when Iran called in the IAEA inspectors) and wants to impose third round of sanctions on it. US blocked Israel-Syria talks in May this year. US, indirectly backing radical Sunnis against radical Shias of Iran ...
There is a shift in the Islamic mood and if US thinks that it’ll rejoice while screwing the Mideast, it’s totally a mistaken perception. Furthermore if US pursues attack on Iran, then what will happen is not difficult to think or prognosticate.
So how long this world will remain prey to the bloody lies, illusions, and US machinations. Is there someone who can rein in damn US to pursue this? It’s now Iraqis who can do all... but before it’s too late to cry over the spilt milk.
