Bloodshed and violent occurrences are nothing new for Iraqis but a recurrent perpetuation that their day begins with. US’s so called crackdown on militants is increasing and so do the civilian casualties. The present predicament has left Iraqis in the cave of spleen where from there is no light visible at the end of the tunnel.
Well, another chapter added to the dark history of Iraq and civilian toll once again raises concerns. But who cares? Notwithstanding, there is little respite for Iraqis form violence and hopes for peace and stability are almost dead.
Meanwhile, in a violent crackdown on militants that US forces carried out on intelligence reports, 34 casualties are reported that what US counted as 19 militants and 15 civilians that include 9 children and 6 women.
US crackdowns on militants are always subject to question as casualties reported in actions are always used to be more militants and fewer civilians. However, in many of the offensives against militants, casualties that people report are all of civilians.
In such an incident on Oct. 5, when in a military operation US forces claimed to kill 25 insurgents, but civilians differ with occupying forces and said that all dead were civilians.
So, how long will this continue? Enough of it now and an end should be put to this lethal violence? But who to do that when someone is callously bent upon mocking humanity in its profit mongering derive while always chanting a big purpose ‘We are in war on terror.’
