Troops casualties in Iraq have become the grin of US as it lost ten more troops in a nasty attack configured by insurgents which followed after a US helicopter was shot down that killed two troops.
After April, it is May that witnessed 114 US soldiers’ causalities making it the deadliest month of 2007 so far. The highest monthly death tolls for U.S. troops occurred in 2004 — 137 in November and 135 in April. The conflict is becoming increasingly dangerous for the U.S. troops in Iraq even after the four years of vigorous fight with 91% increase in US troops’ casualties.

In other separate incidents, gunmen dressed as police commandos abducted five British soldiers while two car bomb blasts in Baghdad killed more than 32 people and injured more than Hundred.
Bush, who is widely criticized for his Iraq war policies, hinted that if the deployment of 30,000 additional US troops, that is still awaited, will prove considerable results to stem sectarian violence - US post-surge strategy might change. However, Bush also asserted on Thursday that -
We can expect more American and Iraqi casualties. This summer is going to be a critical time for the new strategy.
Violent Iraq is going through agonies of bloodshed and cruelties inflicted on them by militants and there are growing apprehensions of Iraqi army personnel to aid the militias. US presence perhaps, is one of the reasons for it. Recent bomb blasts and killing is the clear message of Terrorists that they don’t want U.S. forces to stay in Iraq. Finally, US post-surge policy needs a close look to avoid any further confrontations since there is growing trench between US and Iraqi parliament with the people of both countries yearning for the withdrawal of coalition forces from the war-ravaged country.
