Emilio Morenatti, photographer of Associated Press kidnapped on Monday, was lucky enough because after kidnapping he was neither harmed nor tortured.
While in the possession of kidnappers, Morenatti was kept in a small room where he was provided food. He told that the kidnappers used to visit his room with mask covered faces. He even does not know about the place he was kept. The only clue about the kidnappers is that they only Arabic.
The kidnapping was criticized by Palestinian authorities. In Palestine
kidnapping of foreigners is common, but as per the tactics applied in his kidnapping, Mr. Morenatti doubts hands of Al-Qaeda extremists or Jehadies. However, these are only assumptions. Till now no extremist group had taken responsibility of kidnapping. After the safe release of Morenatti, all his colleagues were happy.
But such attacks on journalists will surly harm the improving conditions and efforts to bring peace to the region.
