Iranian and US altercations are well known and their cross allegations are nothing new. However, new is what it may be called as the shift (as it seems) in Iranian mood. Surprised, might be. Yes, according to latest revelations, Iran has pledged to put checks on its Iraqi borders to reduce the flux of terrorists. So, will this promise run short every movement like the shadow of an object in dawn that ends in noon?
Well, that is what the friendship of pledges and deception is all about and particularly when it comes to foes like US and Iran, suspicion strengthens. And US is the big ‘Daddy’ of deception. How, there are a few who doubt.
The aforesaid pledge was given during Al-Maliki’s recent visit to Iran. However, I wonder, the Iranian pledge or real effort to execute it will bring shift in the mood on the other side. Nevertheless, after the Muqtada al-Sadr decided against carrying out its operations in Iraq this is the second development - if will be implemented with true spirit - that will reduce violence substantially.
This is for the second time that Iran has done that. First it did when it called in the IAEA experts to examine its nuclear reactors that put its nuclear agenda beyond doubt, but US responded with callousness and pursues third round of sanctions against it. If Iran shows its sincerity again, will US cater positively? I believe not. What do you say?
Iran is turning out to be the Geo-political winner of the region and this is what irking US because it can mar its interests in Mideast. On the other hand, even after US hostilities, will covert Iranian maneuverings cease?
