
Jordon’s King Abdullah was very correct when he indicated that at least three civil wars can break out anytime, if the measures were not taken. Further he had said that international community should take essential steps to prevent the region from the catastrophe of civil wars which is increasingly looming large.
However, with announcement of ceasefire from both the sides, the escalating tensions come to a halt, at least for the moment. On the other hand, low penetration level of allied forces and ineffectiveness of Iraqi army and police ethnic strife is peaking everyday. Nevertheless, the most boiling situation is in Lebanon. The entire country is reeling under a great political crisis following the death of anti-Syrian industry minister Peirre Gemayel.
Lebanese politics is at present paralysed as there is a split over Syria’s role in the country. As of now, the Lebanese government is controlled by anti-Syrian coalition. The split is quite profound as the other side of Lebanese Politics, pro Syrian faction is led by Hezbollah and its head Hassan Nassrallah.
Many reports are arguing that Syria wants to cause more sectarian tensions and give a fillip to civil strife providing them a platform to show that Syria is the only country capable of restoring the order.
