Well, planning, changing strategies, sometimes putting extra troops or withdrawing them on the other, digging its heals for restoring peace - this’s what remains for US to do in Iraq. And world is waiting for another changed equating from Bush - from ‘US will win in Iraq’ to ‘US can win in Iraq’ and it’s time for him to acknowledge ‘US failed in Iraq’. Bushie, when will you do that? No, just wait... There is more delay in shifting of power.
Iraq war is confined to two people - Bush and Gen. Petraeus. They meet, they shake hands, they plan, and that’s all. Others are the passive spectators only. No heed to US congress and civilians, no heed to casualties (troops or civilians), and no head to Iraqi officials who demanded the full provincial control in this very summer. Again, they are planning, how long, one hardly knows.
Iraqi socio-political milieu is lurching into disdain, still someone needs more time even when patience is running out on both sides. Are you crazy to go on chasing the terrorists and that too when you have failed to identify them. So, why not to let happen the same under Iraqi control? On the other hand, ‘Alliance of convenience’ (between US and local Sunni forces) and ‘Coalition of Willing‘ didn’t produce considerable results. And Bush is left with nothing to cherish but the nightmare of Iraq war. Still, there are no signs of having wise head on old shoulders.
