The moribund peace process in Mideast and peace talks failing every time to produce laudable results, force people on both sides to think will things ever be in clear light of the day? So, do you think this time it’ll be fruitful? Well, every one knows the answer and why not.
Yes, these doubts are not beyond comprehension when gun battle goes on and rockets are fired across everyday in Palestine and Israel. Faction clashes are on thus annulling every opportunity for peace. Do these peace talks matter when guns go on blazing?
Will crises with others be solved until internal conflicts remain unsolved? Of course not, and this is what governs the present crises in the Mideast. People suffer double atrocities: one inflicted by the factions within the country and another form outside the country.
Can any solution be found for the problems when confrontations arise before meeting date is announced even? Will Berlin wall of apartheid (between Arabs and Jews) be ever broken? Will US efforts this time add something extra that ‘Camp David‘ talks failed to? Well, many in Bush administration even fear that peace talks organized by Condoleezza Rice will fail as it lacks ground work? Is it surprising or are properly organized talks going to solve it otherwise?
Abbas and Olmert are facing tough situation at home - former after Hamas took over Gaza and latter for the failure in war against Lebanon. I wonder, if any solution for the insoluble puzzle - that has unnecessarily been made intricate than it actually is - will be found whatsoever or both parties will stick to it.
On the other hand, will half solution do? You might be thinking about half solution. Yes, one may argue against it, however, it’ll be so unless Hamas will not be involved in peace talks. Hamas is indispensable for the peace in Mideast and deal without its nod will remain annul. And to rely on US, who pretends to solve self created problems, is nothing but a blunder
