Bloodshed, atrocities, assassinations, gun battle and missile attacks are nothing new but recurrent phenomenon for Palestinians. However, the incidents are leading the world to racial segregation and clashes are not only within civilization but also with the civilizations that has added more woe to the people.
Whatever is happening within Palestine is happening in all the Islamic nations e.g. Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria. Sunnis and Shiites are fighting among themselves and al-Qaeda is striking other Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq. Radical Islam and ideological differences have intensified the conflict with other faiths and within the believers of Islam. The reverberations of these lead to the clashes within and with others.
Internal conflicts and faction clashes have led down Palestine - not ideologically but geographically as well - and the soul beneficiary is Israel and West. Israel has continued with its illegal encroachments and attacks in grave violation of international humanitarian law and violations of human rights.
On the other hand, the internal struggle of ideas, ideologies, ethnicities and power struggle to denounce the western influence has divided the Arabs. The Mideast is divided as far as the support for Abbas and peace with Israel is concerned - some Mideast nations support both while some neither of the two.
There are two conspicuous factors in the Middle East: hatred towards Israel and US. They don’t change and anybody who cooperates with Israel and US is automatically hated. Therefore, internal Palestinian conflict and Hamas seizing Gaza has unknowingly given Israel a chance to settle score with Palestine. Israel is trying to bovine Abbas and alienate Hamas. Present incident will give Israel an easy access to Gaza strip and it will try to dismantle Hamas and occupy it (there are possibilities).
Finally, the ideological differences and fight for the power has led down people. Ceasefires are just moments of respite for the power-minded politicians and gun battle resumes after some days. Peace deals between Hamas and Fatah and Israel and Palestine have repeatedly proved this. Israeli confiscation and annexation of Palestinian land while defying the ‘Oslo deal’, whereby West bank and Gaza was to become Palestine, has shown its intentions clearly. This mad race for power and suppression is leaving the world on the brink of apartheid and people in disdain.
