The sectarian violence that has swept across Iraq is yet another example of the tragic consequences of the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq but is that strange to know that these suicide bombers are streaming across Iraq’s border after being trained in Iran.
An Iranian opposition figure said-
Iraqi insurgents, guerrilla fighters and death squads are being trained in secret camps in Iran with the blessing of top Tehran leaders and at least three senior Iraqi political figures.
There was no independent confirmation of the latest information moreover; such accusations are also seen as a ‘cover’ for U.S. failures in Iraq.
However, the top U.S. commander in Iraq also said in an interview a week ago that it’s ‘indisputable’ Iran is training and arming militants to fight against U.S.-led troops in Iraq.
This can be attributed to the US failed attempt to some extent. Not only has the United States failed to bring a functional democracy to Iraq, neither U.S. forces nor the U.S.-backed Iraqi government in Baghdad have been able to provide the Iraqi people with basic security. This has led many ordinary citizens to turn to extremist sectarian groups for protection; further undermining the Bush administration’s insistence that American troops must remain in Iraq in order to prevent a civil war.
