UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has said that Iran is seriously considering the offer of incentive to resolve the nuclear row. This statement will send a positive signal to U.S. that at least Iranian government inching towards considering the offer.
In the face of mounting U.S. pressure, people were expecting the answer within just few days. However, the two protagonists are locked into their respective positions. One one side, a belligerant U.S. and on the other, an adamant Iran.
However, itv reported,
‘Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Tehran would respond to the proposal by August 22, but the six powers want Iran to reply within weeks.’
Kofi Annan’s statement validates the concern of Iranian establishment to the incentive offer, as it might help Iran to take some time. On the other side, U.S. reaction to the delay in answering the incentive offer has been grossly erratic and immature.
As IranMania reported Bush saying in London,
‘Bush warned that Tehran should respond quickly to the offer, delivered to the Iranians by EU foreign policy chief on June 6, saying it had “weeks, not months” to answer.’
What if the U.S. is told to use its own energy resources for its consumption rather exporting it from outside.
Who will bell the biggest ‘polluting’ and burping cat?
