Israeli raids on Palestine killed approximately 40 people in last 12 days and the belligerence seems to continue as Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, vowed to strike Hamas and terrorist outfits in Gaza strip.

The fierce battle that began two weeks ago has invigorated as the Israel Prime Minister is bent upon to destroy the Hamas militants and with that, the apprehension of the rocket attacks to resume for longer time can’t be ruled out. This is what Mr. Olmert said in public meeting -

No-one involved in terror has immunity

The conflicting zone of Israel, Palestine along with Syria started with the very creation of Israel 60 years ago without the permanent delineation of the borders and that’s where the root of the conflict lies. The Arab-Israel conflict is primarily due to never ending boundary dispute, Jerusalem and maybe because of Jordon river water that flows through that land. Israel occupied 78% of the former Palestinian land rather than the 55% allocated to it under UN partition plan in 1949.

Present conflict is inflamed because of Hamas; the ruling party that won elections last year is avoiding the peace deal with Israel to draw permanent boundaries because it wants to establish the Islamic state with the pre 1948 borders.

The current situation in west bank won’t help neither Palestinians nor Israelis. In political wicked mechanizations after all people are the lone sufferers on both sides. Finally, if we consider the situation from strategic point of view the situation in insoluble puzzle with each incident yearning for claims of either side. These atrocities and fierce battle are not going to end until and unless either of the two will not be annihilated completely. For the simple reason no country will give its land for peace and hopefully, Palestine will do the same.
