United Nations secretary general Ban Ki Moon experienced violence in Iraq first hand on Thursday when the venue of his joint press conference with Iraqi prime minster Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad’s highly fortified Green green zone was rocked by a powerful explosion. Ban winced, ducked and grimaced at the mortar attack.
