Even as the ‘nuke-war’ between Iran and the west seems to be at its peek, Iran refuses to bow out. One would imagine that the powerful west would be able to belittle the middle eastern country, but Iran has decided that it would not let that happen. In a recent fresh bid, Iran claims that it will issue tenders in the next few days for two new atomic power plants, a senior official said on Sunday.

Ahmad Fayazbakhsh, an official at Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, said the power plants would each have capacity for 1,000 to 1,600 MW and would be built at Bushehr, the southwest port city where Russians are building Iran’s first atomic plant.

Russia, for the time being has stopped all its supplies to Iran for the nuke plants that the former was supporting. This had supposedly led to a halt in Iran’s nuclear activities. However, only last week Iranian president Ahmadenijad claimed that Iran was running almost 3,500 centrifuges.

While this claim has been denounced both by analysts and by the UN nuclear experts, the west asserts that Iran is using its nuclear acts to build a nuclear bomb, one that could prove disastrous for the entire human race. Iran denies this, has denied it all along. What is interesting to note in the future is when these two new plants will arise, when their tenders would be assigned, and what is the next step the west decides to take to confront Iran?
