Here is something for you all - Iran, amid the trepidations of third tougher sanctions, succumbed to the pressure and called in IAEA experts to sooth the prolonged standoff on nuclear enrichment with UN’s watchdog.

Thank god! There is at least a moment of respite with this positive development on the contentious issue of uranium enrichment on which, the two sides were differing in the past. In addition, it will ward off many apprehensions that would have resulted in mayhem for the whole Mideast.

Finally, the sanctions paid - the result is evident as Iranian anxiety is rising over its suffering economy, business and above all Ahmadinejad faced accusations from his financial and economic officials who repeatedly complained that their moves are blocked due President’s obstinate policies.

Iran has the track record of deviating from its pledges and how long it will stick to its words - only time will tell. However, to expect meek surrender from Iran, I think, will be a blunder, as one hardly knows how many nuclear reactors it is running underground for the purpose.

Since a lot more remains incomplete to bridge the differences still, a question that US and its Western allies need to answer is - why a technical advancement in the Mideast is judged with suspicion? Or is the nuclear advancement a soul prerogative of those few countries who have the expertise?
