Palestinian Authority for barraging a bomb on an Israeli border town that wounded five persons.

‘Why are they bombing us’? Weintraub told Instablogs at Shimla, an hill resort in India, today.

We can see through the game of the Palestinian Authority government’, he said. ‘The ever increasing feuds among Palestinian factions find it convenient to target Israeli territory, for achieving unity of purpose, even though we have nothing to do with the ongoing problems among them’, said Weintraub.

Commenting on the Saudi Arabia initiative for achieving peace with the Palestinians, Israeli embassy spokesperson in India said that short of asking for resettling of the Palestinian refugees displaced in 1949 within present day Israeli territory, the initiative was welcome. ‘There could be no settlement over taking back the Palestinians that were displaced nearly 50 years ago. After all, many Jews have been displaced from Iraq and Iran besides those uprooted from European and other countries. They do not have an option of being taken back by those countries today’ he said.

Weintraub said that the Iran Nuclear Bomb was a real threat to the security of the whole Middle East. ‘It is not just the duty of Israel to stop Iran from achieving nuclear capability but the responsibility rests with all countries, including India’, he said. Not just Israel but even a country like Saudi Arabia was uncomfortable having a nuclear tipped Iran in the neighbourhood, said Weintraub.
