Although US forces claim victory over the cruel ruler Saddam, but still the streets of Iraq remain the battlefield of the forces. Few people even today think that a better picture in Iraq is anything but grim. In past weeks number of casualties and deaths were at highest level in 2 years. At least 27 were killed and many injured. Dozens of coffins are passing Iraq’s streets everyday.
Stragitically, U.S is working quite hard to improve the situation of the prevailing domestic war , but all seems to be in vain because Iraqis are unable to trust their own police force. Security forces are penetrated by militants groups. Presentaly, U.S forces have decided to make no changes in their policies till the coming elections in November. But some of the supporters of war are saying that U.S should think once again before setting deadlines. If new steps by U.S are unable to make any difference or can’t reduce the number of killings then U.S have to take some bold decisions.
U.S have to change its policy; instead of achieving success U.S have to make such a strategy which can limit the failure. Otherwise Iraq can never emerge as a good example of democracy, rather may result in a “Second Vietnam”.
