Egypt, the most dependable ally of the U.S. in the Arab world seems disenchanted with the American policy on the conflict in Palestine. In the absence of any decisive thinking in the U.S. circle and a concrete roadmap plan for tangible and sustainable peace in the Middle East, Egypt blames U.S. for inaction on any future peace process and procrastination over its action to hammer out a deal between Israel and Palestine.
The criticism by the Foreign minister of Egypt of American inaction is sure to add to the gossips in the Muslim world. Since the Camp David pact of 1979 between Egypt and Israel brokered by the U.S., the former has become the virtual American base in the Arab world. But, the gradual shift of power from Arab-Africa to Asiatic-Arab, Egypt can no longer be taken for granted by the U.S. Mass concentration of Palestinian refugees in and around Egypt and terror recruitments from amongst the displaced is certain to force Egypt to pressurize the U.S. for quick move ahead on the peace process.

Since the days of third Arab-Israel war, the Americans are pretending to come out with a concrete roadmap for peace but 30 years have elapsed and the U.S. is yet to show its sincerity. Its unhindered support to Israel and perception in the Arab world that the U.S. is an enemy of Islam may be due to causative factors forcing the planners in White House to remain overcautious before making any peace plan. The U.S. refuses to entertain Hamas as a political grouping and talk to Hezbola is sure to handicap American effort to bring any tangible peace quickly. American antagonism to Syria and Iran to considerable stakeholders in Palestine problem also acts as a great hindrance for sustainable peace.
America has no permanent friend or permanent enemy, it has only permanent interest. Palestine has no oil, no market, no manpower and not even a powerful ally to further the U.S. interests. Perhaps, this makes Americans disinterested in the question of peace there.
