US President George W Bush is planning to send thousands more US troops to Iraq. The troops would be placed in two most troubled regions in Iraq.

According a report, Bush is ready to announce a new war strategy for Iraq. The Bush administration has decided to call for 20,000 additional troops to send in Iraq.

The extra troops would be gone to Baghdad that is under sectarian violence currently. Moreover, the western Anbar Province, reportedly a base of the mostly Sunni insurgency and foreign al-Qaeda fighters, is another region where the troops are expected to be deployed.

A critic of Bush war policies, Senator Edward Kennedy, will probably oppose the Bush’s legislation for the billions needed to send more troops to war.

Although it was still not clear that the bill would ever reach the full Senate. It might serve as a rallying point for the most insistent foes of the Iraq conflict.

The Democrats senators are looking divided on whether to block funds for troop increase. Many of them were not ruling it out. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that Democrats will look at everything in to the matter.

According to the US constitution, the president has the greatest war-making decision powers. The US Congress enjoys the power to control the spending on war.

However, the Democratic leaders have swiftly denied any step of maintenance money from troops already in war zones.

Kennedy has said that his plan would only prevent to send any additional troops to war zones and not stop the flow of money to troops in the field now.
