After experiencing one of the most violent riots in Afghanistan, Afghan army troops took the total control of the capital. Though the schools and shops have been re-opened, the capital still seems to sit on the boiler. An uneasy calmness has blanketed the entire city. The recent violence left 11 people dead and as many as 130 injured.
The violence was triggered by a traffic accident involving a U.S. military convoy and some local populace. Ironically, it has been reported that the U.S. troops shot many civilians while leaving the muddled accident scene.
In the meanwhile, The U.S. military has maintained that only one civilian died in the accident as the cargo truck crashed into a line of vehicles. In addition, it denied allegation that the troop was involved in any firing following the accident but it is likely to carry a full investigation. Needless saying that the finding of the investigation is well known to every one.
