Afghanistan seems to have no respite even after the anarchist Taliban rule, which was thrown out almost five years back.
Who ruled the state then after? Of course, it is either U.S. with its allies or the U.S. backed government. It is a gross failure of the U.S.’ so-called noble cause and a clear-cut victory of its hidden agendas.
All these developments of events raises serious doubts about the intention of the world’s one of the most civilized nation.
Clearly, U.S. is not powerful or efficient enough to reconstruct a single nation or if it cannot establish a successful democracy. In this situation, one can wonder why it takes up another country like Iraq to destroy it first to reconstruct it in the name of establishing democracy.
Coming back to misrule and failure of U.S. backed government in Iraq, Hamilton spectator reports,
‘That failure has let the Taliban walk back in through an open door, say Afghan and foreign officials in Kabul and the southern city of Kandahar. Afghan officials estimate thousands of Taliban guerrillas, many recently infiltrated from Pakistan, are in the five southernmost provinces, where their attacks culminated this spring in a spasm of bombings, ambushes and assassinations against scattered government targets.’
It was inevitable. Since driving Taliban out of power U.S. was more interested in again the so-called reconstruction because most of the contracts, understandably, were given to U.S. based companies. Further, it concentrated on diplomatic efforts to consolidate its position militarily, financially and politically strong in the Middle East and Central Asian region.
The U.S. is under immense pressure to launch fresh offensive as Taliban once again trying to raise its ugly head.
Reuters has recently reported that,
‘U.S. forces and their Afghan allies expect more violence and clashes with Islamist Taliban fighters as the coalition extends its reach into the country, the U.S. military said.’
So misrule has not even affected the general masses but Taliban as well. Weak governance backed by U.S. benefited both the forces in its own way, it gave Taliban ample time to regroup and strengthen itself and U.S. get more time to stay in the region militarily on this pretext.
At this point of time, there is no difference between Taliban and the U.S. in the eyes of an Afghan.
It raises clear doubts whether the self-proclaimed responsible state, U.S. is really a responsible state.
