In order to encounter the terrorist attacks in Iraq the American Lieutenant general, Martin Dempsey, yesterday announced to recruit 40,000 troops in Iraq within next 18 months with a mammoth amount of $ 14 billion investment.
Iraqi army will be equipped with new arms:
Martin Dempsey, who is in charge of training of the Iraqi forces, said that U.S will spend $ 5 billions and remaining amount will come from Iraqi treasury. He further stated that the Iraqi army would be equipped with the latest U.S arms. Iraqi army will be added with a small air force fleet as well.
U.S probably planning retreat:
The present idea to enable the Iraqi forces to encounter terrorism and insurgency is perhaps a probable plan of U.S to retreat its forces from Iraq as President George W. Bush on Wednesday accepted for the first time that the Americans are not winning in Iraq.
Maybe the Americans are planning to quit Iraq by handing over the power to the Iraqi government and the present idea of equipping Iraqi forces is to replace the U.S army units on ground.
It will take very long time for American forces to train the Iraqi forces to encounter the present situation; however, it is just the beginning and lot more remains incomplete for the Americans to bring the war torn country back on track.
